    Top NBA DFS picks for Wednesday, November 13

    For Wednesday, one of McClure’s top NBA DFS picks is Bucks power forward/center Giannis Antetokounmpo, who is listed at $11,500 on DraftKings and FanDuel. The eight-time All-Star is off to another incredible start, ranking second in scoring (30.7 points per game), fifth in rebounding (11.9 per game) and seventh in field goal percentage (61.6%). The 6-foot-1 athletic giant is nearly unstoppable in the open court, and Antetokounmpo had 23 points on 9-of-12 shooting and seven assists yesterday with Damian Lillard. Lillard missed Tuesday with a concussion, which could keep him out again Wednesday, meaning more offensive responsibilities for Antetokounmpo.

    The Bucks play the Pistons, and while Detroit has improved from last year’s disastrous 14-68 campaign, it’s 5-7 to start the season. It’s a long night for the Pistons with a tough 123-121 overtime win over the Heat on Tuesday where three of their starters played at least 38 minutes. Fatigue could play a role in trying to contain a physical player like Antetokounmpo, who had 31 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists the last time he played with the Pistons.

    The second part of McClure’s optimal NBA DFS strategy involves drafting 76ers center Andre Drummond ($6,600 on DraftKings and $6,200 on FanDuel). Joel Embiid returned to the 76ers lineup yesterday, and while he said he wanted to play Wednesday after the game and coach Nick Nurse didn’t rule him out, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Embiid sat out the second half of the final game. back. That would mean an expanded role for Drummond, who is averaging 9.2 points and 10 rebounds per game.

    Even if Embiid does play, he likely won’t play his normal minutes. Drummond had a double-double in back-to-back games before Embiid’s return.   • CBS Sports releases new college basketball top 25 and 1 rankings after Kentucky upsets Duke

    CBS Sports has released a new Top 25 and 1, updating their college basketball rankings by Kentucky upset duke on Tuesday evening.

    The Wildcats beat the Blue Devils by five at State Farm Arena during the State Farm Champions Classic. Despite Cooper Flagg scored 26 points, Andrew Carr 17 was enough to lead Kentucky to their biggest win of the new, fresh 2024-25 campaign.

    Kansas was ranked No. 1 in many Top 25 rankings before the season, and they did nothing to convince voters to go elsewhere in the final week and make a change. They also now have one of the best wins in the nation, following a home win against North Carolina last Friday.

    The Jayhawks have two games this week to continue proving why they are the best team in the country. They already beat Michigan State in the State Farm Champions Classic on Tuesday and will be looking for another win when they welcome Oakland to town on Saturday.

    Alabama

    Alabama opened the season with two wins, including a game against Arkansas State where they were pushed in the second half but pulled away despite injuries that they continue to bounce back from in the rotation.

    The Crimson Tide is having a rough November and it’s starting to take shape this week. The matchup against Purdue on Friday is a big one, and whichever team wins will be in tremendous shape. Thankfully, they started their week with a win over McNeese State on Monday.

    Auburn has arguably its best win of the season as it defeats Houston on the road this weekend. To make the feat even more impressive, the Tigers overcame some controversy en route there and still made a big statement.

    Bruce Pearl’s team gets a slight reprieve in Week 2. Auburn has just one game left as they host Kent State at Neville Arena on Wednesday night.

    North Carolina opened its season with a win over Elon, but fell in its second game of the campaign, bringing its record to 1-1. But no one will blame them for the loss, as they fell just three points short against the first-place Kansas Jayhawks.

    It was a tough pill to swallow for the Tar Heels, but they’ve had some time to get over it since they don’t play until Friday. North Carolina will host the Americans at the Dean E. Smith Center.

    After opening week, UConn gave no reason for anyone to think a waiver was coming. The Huskies took care of business and it looked like the new look of the roster had a lot to build on.

    They are 2-0 and are unlikely to be tested too much this week. The Huskies have just one game left and that will be a home game against 1-2 Le Moyne on Wednesday night.

    Another team with early wins, Iowa State, remains in the mix for this week’s CBS Sports Top 10 teams. The Cyclones are looking to build on their entire non-conference slate and solidify their chances in the Big 12 conference title race.

    There was only one game listed for Iowa State this week. The Cyclones faced Kansas City on Monday, a game they won by 26 at the Hilton Coliseum.

    Gonzaga opened the season with a bang, beating Baylor by a wide margin in a game that changed the perception of top-10 prospects. The Bulldogs had to hold on late against Arizona State to end the weekend, but stayed in the win column.

    Mark Few’s team will not be back in action until Friday night. The McCarthey Athletic Center will be the venue for UMass Lowell and Gonzaga.

    Houston

    Despite the loss, Houston remains one of the top ranked teams. Still, the Cougars fell in the rankings as a few teams picked up big wins. However, a loss to Auburn shouldn’t convince voters that the Cougars are less likely to climb the CBS Sports rankings.

    In Week 2, Houston gets a chance to make a comeback. They will play Louisiana and Hofstra this week, before the all-important Week 3 game against Alabama.

    Purdue is off to an undefeated start and improved to 3-0 with a win over Yale on Monday. It was only an eight point victory, but the Boilermakers will take it any way they can.

    There will be no room for error in their next game. Purdue will welcome Alabama to Mackey Arena in a highly anticipated showdown between two of the nation’s top teams.

    Tennessee is 2-0 after a blowout win against Louisville on Saturday. The volunteers are off to a fantastic start again and want to keep it going throughout November.

    They won’t have much of a challenge in Week 2, with matchups against Montana and Austin Peay on the slate. However, the Volunteers face a clash with Virginia next week.

    1. Nico Collins, Houston Texans: Before suffering a hamstring injury that sidelined him for five weeks, Collins was the NFL’s leading receiver. In just over four games (he played just nine snaps before leaving in Week 5), Collins had 32 catches for 567 yards and three touchdowns. Now he’ll be back to take over a Dallas defense that ranks 31st in net adjusted yards allowed per pass attempt (7.1).

    2. Ja’Marr Chase, Cincinnati Bengals: Chase caught 11 passes for 263 yards and three touchdowns in Week 10 and the players they had in their fantasy football lineups almost certainly won.   • Reaction and analysis of the Reds’ top five prospects according to Baseball America

    Baseball America ranked the Cincinnati Reds’ top prospects on Tuesday.

    Check out the top five options below, including our own analysis and insight from Jeremy Farrell, the Reds’ senior director of player development:

    1. Rhett Lowder

    Lowder was the seventh overall pick in the 2023 MLB draft. The right-hander started the season with High-A Dayton and quickly worked his way up to Double-A Chattanooga.

    After struggling in his first 10 starts in Double-A with a 6.85 ERA, Lowder settled down and had a 0.62 ERA over his next five starts, earning him a promotion to Triple-A Louisville. He played just one game in Louisville, pitching six scoreless innings with seven strikeouts before earning a call-up to the major leagues.

    He continued to impress in his six Major League appearances. In over 30 2/3 innings, he had a 1.17 ERA along with 22 strikeouts. He did not allow a run in four of his six starts.

    «Obviously Lowder flew the system,» Reds senior director of player development Jeremy Farrell said. «He found some things in Double-A that would prepare him for the run he had in the big leagues. I feel like he’s only going to get better as he gets more comfortable with the pro game.

    2. Chase Burns

    Burns was the second pick in the 2024 draft. Burns played two seasons at Tennessee before transferring to Wake Forest for his final season.

    In 2024, Burns went 10-1 with a 2.70 ERA. He struck out 191 batters in 100 innings and had a WHIP of just .920.

    The 21-year-old didn’t pitch in the Reds’ system in 2024, but did pitch in Arizona’s instructional league and will be available for spring training in 2025.

    «Chase hasn’t competed this year, but he’s healthy, he’s ready to go,» Farrell said. «No red flags here. But he finished the instructional league with a few outings here in Arizona and he’ll be ready to head to the affiliate in the spring.»

    3. Chase Petty

    Petty was taken over by Sonny Gray in March 2022. After a dominant 2023 campaign between High-A Dayton and Double-A Chattanooga, the righty made 30 starts between Double-A and Triple-A in 2024.

    The 21-year-old struck out 130 batters with a 4.20 ERA in 137 innings. However, if you take out his first four starts of the season, his ERA drops to 3.50 over his last 24 starts.

    «A tremendous year for Chase Petty. He took the ball and stayed healthy,» Farrell said. “Not only has he matured in what he’s tried to do as a passer and hitter, but also in the way he’s gone about his business. Whether it was the preparation or the way he ran the game, we challenged him with Triple-A at the end of the year and I thought overall it was a really, really good year for Chase.»

    4. Alfredo Duno

    The Reds signed Duna in 2023 when he was just 17 years old. MLB.com ranked Duno as the fourth best player in this year’s international signing period.

    Duno played just 32 games in 2024 due to a broken rib and slashed .267/.367/.422 in 139 plate appearances with Low-A Daytona.

    «One of the best catchers I’ve seen come out of Latin America,» said Trey Hendricks, the Reds’ director of international scouting. “He gets a lot of notoriety from various baseball publications and for good reason. He is a really talented kid.”

    5. Cam Collier

    The Reds drafted Collier in 2022 with the no. 18. The 19-year-old played the entire season at High-A Dayton. He slashed .248/.355/.443 to go along with 20 home runs.

    After a struggling offense, Collier finished strong, slashing .265/.404/.466 with a wRC+ of 151 over the final 65 games of the season. He helped lead the Dayton Dragons to their first playoff berth since 2017.

    There were guys who took big steps forward this year,» Farrell said. «Look at Cam Collier and how his season went. I got off to a hot start. The league adjusted to him a bit and he adjusted back and finished very strong, combining quality, consistent hitting and hitting for power. It’s been a tremendous year for Cam.»

  • Fantasy football wide receiver rankings: Top 75 WRs in standard leagues for Week 11, plus 4 sleepers

    We’re officially heading into Week 11 of the fantasy football season, which means almost every game is a must-win for most fantasy teams from here on out. Several teams are also on bye this week, including the Carolina Panthers, New York Giants, Arizona Cardinals and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, further limiting managers’ options for both their locked-in starters and weekly flexible options.

    To help you enter your Week 11 lineups, we’ll outline several WR flex plays (and sleepers) to consider, as well as our ranking of the top 64 WRs for standard scoring leagues.

    Week 11 WR flex play

    Ladd McConkey, Los Angeles Chargers vs. CIN

    Don’t let Quentin Johnston’s recent penchant for scoring touchdowns on failed reports make you forget who the true #1 WR is for the LA Chargers; this man is Ladd McConkey’s second pick, and it’s not particularly close. The Chargers’ passing offense has increased its passing percentage since the bye, and McConkey’s role should be especially conducive to a strong showing in Week 11 if things continue on their current trajectory.

    McConkey is the only WR on the Chargers to exceed a 20% target rate on routes this season – especially impressive given his rookie status – leading the team with 2.04 yards per route run, explosive receptions (14) and forced fumbles clashes. at receptions (8). The Bengals have been hot offensively, which could increase the Chargers’ need to throw the ball early and often against a defense that ranks in the top 10 in passing yards (2,300) and touchdowns allowed (17) so far this season.

    Jauan Jennings, San Francisco 49ers vs. SEA

    In the absence of WR Brandon Aiyuk, who is out for the year with a torn ACL, Jauan Jennings is the last X-receiver on offense for the rest of the season. After returning from a hip injury, Jennings led the team with 11 targets, hauling in seven of them for a team-high 93 yards. In Week 11, the 49ers will get a divisional matchup that has been kind enough to opposing wide receivers. The Seahawks allow the ninth-most fantasy points per game (22.06) to opposing WRs and are one of 12 teams to allow double-digit receptions at the position. Given their own standing as a high-volume passing offense, it wouldn’t be surprising to see this matchup turn into a shootout, even though it’s essentially a tough divisional matchup.

    Week 11 WR sleepers

    Cedric Tillman, Cleveland Browns vs. NO

    It seems as if Cedric Tillman was largely forgotten about the Cleveland Browns’ Week 10 bye. However, it would be wise not to forget that he has been a staple in games since Amari Cooper was traded this season. The second-year WR has stepped up in Cooper’s absence, playing 82% or more of the snaps in Cleveland’s last three games, receiving 9+ targets and 75+ receiving yards in each of those outings. In Week 11, the Browns face the New Orleans Saints, who have allowed the third-most receiving yards to an opposing wide receiver this year (despite giving up just six touchdowns), allowing a league-leading 5.59 yards per reception.

    Marquez Valdes-Scantling, New Orleans Saints vs. CLE

    The decision to start New Orleans Saints WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling is not for the faint of heart.     When you were eyeing potential weekend absences for your future fantasy rosters during the draft, you might have thought Week 11 would be easy to navigate. However, fantasy managers will navigate their lineups without the Carolina Panthers, New York Giants, Arizona Cardinals and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which means more starters each week (James Conner, Rachaad White, Chuba Hubbard) and more newly successful RB plays (Tyrone Tracy Jr., Trey Benson).

    To help you navigate the choppy waters of a must-win week to clinch your league’s fantasy football playoff spot, here’s a look at several sleepers to consider and the top 65 RB Week 11 rankings for standard scoring fantasy leagues.

    Week 11 RB flex week: Nick Chubb, Cleveland Browns vs. NO

    Fantasy managers may be on the verge of losing faith in Nick Chubb after three straight games of disappointing returns, as he has failed to gain more than 55 yards in any of those outings this season. It could give him some wiggle room this week, especially after a Week 10 bye that gave him some rest after a solid workload the previous three games as he worked his way back from a torn ACL. The Cleveland Browns are scheduled to face the New Orleans Saints in Week 11, who are tied for second in the league with 12 total rushing touchdowns given up to opposing RBs this season and seventh in the league with 1,133 rushing yards. Unfortunately, the Browns have struggled in run blocking this year, but if there’s a place this veteran can bounce back, it’s here.

    11th week RB of people with deep sleep

    Audric Estimé, Denver Broncos (vs. ATL)

    When Sean Payton speaks, everyone should pay attention. He noted before Week 10 that he’d like to give fifth-round rookie RB Audric Estimé some more work. He certainly delivered, giving up 14 rushing attempts to lead running backs by a mile, as Jaleel McLaughlin had just two carries and presumptive starter Javonte Williams had just a single hit. Although Estime only averaged 3.8 yards per attempt, his dominance in terms of workload is significant, especially when it comes from his head coach’s promise.

    Estimé is a strong returner at 5-foot-11, 227 pounds, ranking in the 96th percentile for RBs in rushing rate, 88th percentile in forced fumble rate and 90th percentile in touchdown yards per attempt over the past two seasons at Notre Dame. The Falcons have ranked in the bottom 10 fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs in standard scoring formats this year, but the potential to drop 14+ carries earns Estimé a spot on the Week 11 sleeper list.

    Jaylen Warren, Pittsburgh Steelers (vs. BAL)

    The Pittsburgh Steelers returned from their Week 9 bye with Jaylen Warren, who was sidelined for another week with a knee injury he suffered in Week 3. In that outing, he had the second-highest single-game reception of his career with 14 rushing attempts for 66 yards. against the Washington Commanders, returning each of his two targets for 29 more yards on the ground.

    This week, the Steelers will host the Baltimore Ravens for their first divisional game of the season – a team that has been pretty stingy with opponents … although they have given up a lot receiving yards to opposing RBs, an area Warren has specialized in when healthy. However, returning from an ankle injury, he completed 10 carries to Dobbins’ 15, averaging 5.5 yards per carry. In his Week 10 return, he played just 25% of the snaps despite that high carry, leaving plenty of room for growth in the coming week. The Bengals are tied for the seventh-lowest completion rate at 14.5% while tied for the fifth-highest EPA per rushing attempt (0.02), which could be an interesting spot for Edwards if the Chargers’ defense is able to slow down the red-hot Bengals offense down low. .
